ANEMONE DRIVE (“ANEMONE”)

Anemone was recently returned to AAGA for financial reasons after being in a home for 8 months. She is a pretty, petite dark brindle girl with a big white chest and nicely tipped ears.  She is Irish on her mom’s side. Despite a great pedigree, Anemone just wasn’t cut out to be much of a racer.  She makes up for that by being super sweet and friendly.

HILCO SPARTAN (“SPARTAN”)

Spartan is a big (RWt 76#), strong handsome guy with a dark face and large impressive ears. Confident and outgoing, he certainly is used to travel, as his 107 races were spread out over the Jacksonville, Flagler, Naples, Fort Myers, Palm Beach, and Dubuque tracks. He was recently relinquished to AAGA through no fault of his own after spending a year in a home.  Spartan is a very charming gentleman who likes to gently grab your hand to get attention.  He would prefer a home without cats or little dogs.

CM’S MULLEN (“MULLEN”)

This handsome young fellow was diagnosed with an auto immune disorder that left his body covered with a painful rash.  For the past 4 months Mullen has been extensively treated and lovingly cared for at AAGA.  His symptoms have now all disappeared and he’s feeling “greyt”.  Although the vet has recommended that he remain on special antibiotics for the next 6 months (to Feb 2019), Mullen is such a friendly playful guy, we would love to see him in a forever home as soon as possible. If you feel you might have room in your home and your heart for this special boy, please give Carl at call at 770-469-9533.

BA ZOMBIE NATION (“ZOMBIE”)

Zombie was recently returned to AAGA after 17 months in a home because of “family financial problems”.  There were no issues with him.  Zombie is a Greyhound with an “international flare”.  His dad is Irish; his grandfather is Australian.  A handsome fellow with a white chest and perfect tipped ears, he raced at both Wheeling Downs (West Virginia) and Jacksonville. He is a friendly guy, laid back and reserved, who loves massages.

CBJ VIPER (“VIPER”)

Such a lovely petite girl with her shiny, shiny coat, big white chest, and super slim (AKC-like) waist. Viper is very sweet and very friendly. She chalked up her 61 career races touring the Orange Park, Southland, and Mardi Gras tracks, and was just retired the end of July.

JS ARCTIC BEAR (“BEAR”)

Ya gotta love this “blonde” puppy. Bear is a happy outgoing playful Greyhound who knows his name, comes when he’s called, and “smiles”. Because he’s so social, he would probably do best living with another Greyhound and people who could give him a lot of time and attention. Despite a noteworthy pedigree, Bear never raced.

MAC’S KATHLEEN (“KATHY”)

167 races, the last one just 5 days before she came to AAGA, comprise Kathy’s athletic career. Almost half of those runs were “in the money”. She’s a lovely black lady with the slimmest stripe of white down her muzzle and Irish blood in her veins. Kathy is very friendly, a clinger who nudges you for attention.  She will also climb into your lap.

PAT C DENIZEN (“DENIZEN”)

This chunky bundle of energy (RWt 66#) is as pretty as she is fast. Her resume includes 121 races, 53% of which were “in the money”. She’s a happy, outgoing, confident girl. No kitties or small dogs in her forever home, though.

JS CLASSYCAPTAIN (“CAPTAIN”)

Captain is a sleek young guy on the small side (RWt 68#) who raced just four times, apparently not developing the most intuitive racing skills. He is very friendly and loves company.  He will not tolerate crating and would probably do best in a home with another Greyhound and/or people who are around all the time.

SHELDON

When he was about 1½ years old, Sheldon was found wandering in the woods by a Minnesota humane society.  No ear numbers, no collar, no chip, unneutered.  Never claimed, he was ultimately re-homed by Minnesota Greyhound Rescue. Currently 7½ years old, he was recently relinquished to AAGA when his adopter relocated to Atlanta and is now employed at a job with long working hours, causing the dog some separation anxiety.  Sheldon has obviously been lovingly cared for.  He lived with a Corgi, slept with a cat, and is known to do well with children. He is very personable and affectionate (will climb into your lap), sits on command, and knows a handful of “tricks”. He would probably do best in a home with a fenced yard and where he could be around family most of the time — or, at minimum, another Greyhound to keep him company.

JS DIMITRI (“DOODER”)

Dooder is very handsome with his deep red color, dark face, and striped raccoon tail.  He’s a big, strong active puppy who likes to think he’s in charge…perhaps why he never raced professionally.

PAT C DIRE (“DIRE”)

This big boy (RWt 76#) is a very RED brindle, made even more handsome by his black face! His athletic career consisted of 100 races, completed with reasonable success.  Dire is a friendly, confident guy.

CRAIGIE BEOWULF (“BEOWULF”)

Beowulf is an attractive black fellow with an unusual light masked face.  He raced at Wheeling Downs and Southland, but, despite a strong pedigree, he just didn’t seem to be cut out for the track, completing just 27 races.  Instead, he prefers retirement and the company of humans, pushing his head between their knees to claim attention.

KC’S CHASING AMY (“PHOEBE”)

Phoebe has been in a home for the past year and was recently returned to AAGA through no fault of her own.   Prior to her adoption, Phoebe had a very successful racing career, completing 140 races with a 56% “in the money” rate and earning 5.0 performance points.  She was originally scheduled for breeding upon her retirement, but that, for some reason, didn’t come about. Phoebe is a very outgoing, confident and friendly young lady who likes to give kisses.

SUGAR BUZZDEXTER (“TOO TALL”)

Recently, Too Tall was tearfully returned to us when his loving “mom”, due to financial circumstances, had no choice but to accept a job requiring long travel periods.   Too Tall was a kennel favorite in Jacksonville before he initially came to AAGA a couple years ago, no doubt because he is an outgoing, friendly fellow who prefers to be in the company of humans and bonds quickly to his caregiver.  He is comfortable with kitties and dogs of all sizes, but he isn’t real happy around small children. As one can imagine from his nickname, he’s a good-sized tall boy, plus he’s definitely handsome.
