KC’S HILLARY (“HILLARY”)

Look who we found at Forsyth Animal Control — it’s Hillary!  She was left there by her previous owner who said she was a wonderful loving Greyhound BUT was not comfortable with small children and small animals. We first met Hillary in October of 2016 when she arrived at AAGA following her retirement from a successful racing career.  We found her to be a friendly, sweet and smart girl, and she was quickly adopted.  Well, fast forward 1½ years and she hasn’t changed.  She’s still a lovely outgoing gal who is eager to greet visitors. Now we just need to find her a “forever” home devoid of little tykes, kitties and tiny dogs. Could that be yours? (more…)

MACS MORETTI (“MORETTI”)

Moretti is the product of a famous dad who was a 2008 All American plus strong Irish and Australian lineage on her mom’s side. She was successful in bringing home a check in more than half of her 135 races. Moretti is a cute active girl who loves people. She can excitably jump up on visitors when she first meets them but then quickly calms down into proper “Greyhound mode”.

DUTCH MARLEY (“MARLEY”)

Born on St. Patrick’s Day three years ago, Marley is a petite girl (RWt-58#) who has 107 races “under her belt”.  Her race record shows that she seemed to get bumped and blocked a lot in her runs.  However, she was a spunky little competitor who never gave up and still managed to come in “in the money” 56% of the time.  She’s a calm, affectionate gal who likes attention.

OSHKOSH URBAN (“URBAN”)

If you like the big guys, take a look at this one.  Urban raced at 83 pounds! In 143 races he was “in the money” in about 50% of them. Urban is undeniably gorgeous, friendly, calm — a “leaner” — and we love his signature “comb over” ears.

KC’S MAX (“MAX”)

ADOPTED.  An impressive pedigree doesn’t necessarily guarantee a successful racer, as evidenced by this young fella who has just 4 professional races to his credit.  Nevertheless, that doesn’t detract from his handsome appearance and friendly personality, which should guarantee him a loving forever home.

CAYENNE WHITNEY (“WHITNEY”)

This pretty young thing is an adorable outgoing bouncy package. In spite of an enviable pedigree, Whitney just didn’t seem to have the zest for racing. After just 17 lackluster professional turns around the track, she was retired and given the opportunity to become a fun and lovable family member.

LUCK CRUSHER (“CRUSHER”)

Crusher (also sometimes known as “Lucky”) is a good-sized (RWt 74#) impressive looking gentleman. Note his identifiable facial markings and big “semaphore” ears. He also has an unusual half-dollar-sized white spot on the back of his neck. His resume consists of 127 races, half of which were “in the money”.  He’s a personable, very playful guy who likes tummy rubs and “roos”/”talks” to get attention.

PAT C BIG FOOT (“BIG FOOT”)

With his lovely brindle markings, big wide head, and dark face ending with white on the tip of his muzzle, Big Foot is very photogenic. Even though appearing quite large and powerful, he is really quite endearing and playful.  Big Foot had a successful racing career.  In his 118 races he earned a check in 61% of them and accumulated 2.0 performance points along the way.

C VILLE CLONE (“CLONE”)

This sweet and endearing girl was actually a little spitfire on the track.  Backed by a noteworthy pedigree, Clone was “in the money” 52% of the time in her 174 races.  She also racked up 6.0 performance points.  Now she eagerly greets AAGA visitors in the hopes of finding her forever family.

PAW PATROL (“PAW PAW”)

AAGA just retrieved this handsome boy from Animal Control where he was left by his previous adopter (“because he was moving”). Paw Paw (also known as Razzul) is a good-sized tall fellow (racing weight 80#) who is super personable and very loving.  He was originally adopted back in July of 2016 and, we understand, lived with a small dog (also left at Animal Control).  With his happy demeanor and perfect behavior, Paw Paw is an ideal choice for some lucky person prepared to give him a real “forever” home.

BRASKA DEACON (“DEACON”)

Like all ex-racers, Deacon deserves a forever home. And he thought he had one – for almost 6 years, that is. Then a baby came along, and the adopters did not want to trust a big dog around their infant. They also decided they could no longer afford Deacon. So, back he came to AAGA. Since his return, Deacon has been the perfect gentleman. No accidents, no issues, gets along well with anyone and everything. He is the first to eagerly greet every visitor, including children. But as much as everyone is immediately drawn to him, one thing stands in his way:  he will be 10 years old on April 18th. Certainly, this sweet, gentle boy deserves another chance at love and a forever home.  If you feel you can open your heart and home to a healthy, handsome loving senior, please give Carl a call for more details.

GS LOLA (“ANNIE”)

Annie is a lovely petite girl with an especially attractive brindle-marked face.  She was in a very loving home for a couple years. However, when that residence became a home for foster children, Annie, who was accustomed to her own space and “stuff”, just could not seem to adjust to the addition of those little ones. Thus, she was recently (and tearfully) returned to the track.  She is very sweet and well-behaved.

MAC’S FUNKYMONKY (“MONKEY”)

Monkey is a lovely light-colored girl, with beautiful natural mascara’d eyes and a dark muzzle.  Muscular and large for a female (RWt 69#), she can boast of a powerful pedigree. While racing at Orange Park (Jacksonville), Derby Lane (St. Petersburg), and Tri-State (West Virginia), Monkey completed 113 races that put her “in the money” 56% of the time and earned her 12 Performance Points. Confident and outgoing, upon arrival at AAGA, she immediately claimed the couch!

KAIAS POPLAR (“POPPY”)

Poppy is a big tall guy who raced at 82 pounds.  He was in a home for 3 to 4 years when he and 4 of his housemates were all returned to the track through no fault of their own.  (The husband passed away a couple months ago, and the wife is now in the hospital.) He is a friendly, well-behaved, photogenic boy.

MAC’S NEEDYOUNOW (“NEEDY”)

Needy’s 153 races resulted in her bringing home a check 57% of the time, no doubt a testament to her very strong pedigree. This beautiful girl is extremely outgoing – just full of personality.

B’S GOT CANDY (“CANDY”)

This classic-looking girl with a nice white chest and lovely expression raced at 63 pounds. Both her mom and dad were noteworthy racers; her grandparents were exceptional. Candy, however, was only moderately successful in her 87 turns around the track.  She is super sweet and friendly.

PAT C SEVEN (“SEVEN”)

Seven is a stocky boy with that always-coveted dark brindle coat.  His racing career consisted of 112 races, over 50% of which involved a win-place-or-show and earned him 4.5 Performance Points. He is a friendly and outgoing guy who is easily identified by his quirky “semaphore” ears (one up, one sideways, like signal flags).

NB’S AMIGO (“AMIGO”)

Amigo is a handsome, lively fellow with an “international” pedigree.  He has Irish, English, and Australian Greyhounds in his background. Like his brother MIDNIGHT, who is also here at AAGA awaiting his forever home, Amigo is a friendly and appealing boy.

YO JO JO MURF (“JO JO”)

Jo Jo is a real standout with his gorgeous black brindle coloring. His resume is pretty noteworthy, as well.  His 158 career races resulted in a 55% monetary return plus some performance points.   He has spent the past year in a loving home but was recently returned to AAGA.  As Jo Jo is a good-sized active and outgoing boy, his adopters, presently in their 80’s, feel they are now “too old” to care for a big dog.
