PET FIRST AID KIT

Pets are always getting themselves into mischief, which means the likelihood of an accident happening and your pet injuring themselves is very high. Of course, there are many different treatment options for when your pet is in pain, such as these premium pet oils that can reduce inflammation and help them recover faster. However, everyone who shares a home with a pet should also have a basic pet first-aid kit on hand. Keep your pet’s first-aid kit in your home and take it with you if you are traveling with your pet.

WW’S SAWTELLE (“SAWTELLE”)

Sawtelle is a dashing young man with lovely tipped ears that are almost always up.  Although he won’t celebrate his 3rd birthday until mid May, he managed to earn his keep by bringing home a purse in at least 56% of his 74 career races. He’s a friendly, well-behaved fellow.

ROXANNE JANE (“ROXIE”)

Roxie is a smart inquisitive gal who becomes more outgoing every day as she adapts to her new off-the-track life.  The result of an interesting pedigree—Irish racers on her mom’s side and Greyhound Hall of Fame members on her dad’s side—she compiled a very successful career of 135 races with an “in the money” rate of 60%.  She is sweet and knows her name.  She even sits.

TRIPLEDIGITPETE (“PETE”)

Pete is a handsome young man with a tall, stately neck and pretty tulip ears.  His racing career was very short – only 10 races.  He just didn’t fulfill the promise of his very noteable forebears (including a Greyhound All American).  Just like his sister who was successfully rehomed by AAGA a couple months ago, he is better suited to be a “couch potato”.  He is very sweet and lovable.

OK LADY LIGHTNING (“LADY”)

Lady is very outgoing and playful. The first thing she did on her arrival at Greys’Land was to run inside and jump up on the couch. Despite her noteworthy pedigree – her dad was a member of the 2010 All American Greyhound team – she just didn’t seem to be cut out to be a racer. She ended up with 8 lackluster races in her career.  She has chosen instead to be a hugger and a kisser.

T’S FIRE EATER (“FRIEDA”)

This lovely girl is very friendly and likes to give kisses. She raced the majority of her career at the Tucson, Arizona, track before coming to Jacksonville. Despite her petite size, she was a spunky runner, completing 123 races and bringing home a prize in more than 60% of them.  She last circled the track just 6 days before arriving in Atlanta.

FANATIC BLIZZARD (“BECKY”)

This pretty black pup with the big white chest just turned two years old the end of May. For whatever reasons, she never set foot on the track.  She is a friendly, outgoing but gentle young lady who is always encouraging the other dogs to play with her..

If you have a couple hours you’d like to donate, the Greyhounds would be most appreciative! Just give Carl a call at 770-469-9533 to set up whatever day and time works best for you.

Also, if you know of anyone who has Community Service hours they need to complete, you might let them know that AAGA, as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization , is a qualified place to work off that obligation.

TASK WISE WORDS (“VICKI”)

A SPECIAL ADOPTABLE.  Vicki is now back at AAGA after her loving adopter for the past 10 years was forced to go into Assisted Living.  Since she was checked by the vet and determined to be in good health with all her shots up to date, it was not felt that Vicki’s life should be at an end. This well-behaved lovable lady is outgoing and eager to meet visitors. She did very well at a recent meet ‘n greet where she sought out and enjoyed attention, especially from women. While she is, of course, able to remain at AAGA “forever”, we feel she would probably more enjoy the environment of a quiet residential situation. We are hoping that there is someone out there with room in their heart and their life to give this sweet senior girl a loving home for the rest of her days. If that might be you, please call Carl at 770-469-9533 for special adoption considerations.

This pretty pup is quite petite – just 54 pounds.  She comes with a spectacular pedigree and, despite her very young age, chalked up 10 races at the Melbourne and Sarasota tracks.  Unfortunately, she didn’t do all that well, having difficulty staying out of trouble and out of the way of the other racers. So, here she is ready for a forever home.  She is a friendly, well-behaved tail-wagger.
