ADOPTED. Recently, the Jacksonville track called AAGA to say there was an 8-year-old fawn male Greyhound in Americus, Georgia, that the owner no longer wanted, and could we help. Immediately, AAGA volunteers drove out, picked him up and brought him to Greys’Land. His name is Chimi, and he is a sweet, well-behaved, handsome boy who spent the last 6 years in a home where he was always well-maintained – annual check-ups and vaccines, dental cleaning, claws clipped, etc. – but, we feel, had little love or attention. While he is still a bit overwhelmed by the sudden change in his life and is now learning to walk on bare floors (He had always been kept in a room with wall-to-wall carpeting!), he gets along well with the other Greyhounds plus all the visitors to AAGA. He is such a gentle soul that deserves a second chance at a “forever” home, one that will give him the hugs and kisses he eagerly craves and so appreciates.
